WineBlueBook is a wine buying guide that compares wine ratings and price to determine value.
This month's issue features many West Coast Pinot Noir, White Burgundy, West Coast Cabernet Sauvignon and West Coast Syrah wines that were scored in the past 30 days by the wine critics.
At the high scoring end, the 2008 Quilceda Creek, Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley (WA) received an average score of 97 points and at $180 is 30% of the average cost of a similar scoring West Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, which rates it a "Great Value".
An outstanding value this month is the 2010 Château Lynch-Bages, Bordeaux Pauillac, which scored 97 points. It costs $159, which is 13% of the average $1,219 cost of a similar scoring Bordeaux, earning its "Outstanding Value" moniker.
At the low price of $18, the 2009 Alain Jaume, Southern Rhône Côtes du Rhône Villages les Valats received an average score of 91 points and is 41% of the average $45 cost of a similar scoring Southern Rhône, earning it a "Great Value" moniker.
