2001-2004 White Burgundy Issue (October 2006 Issue)

When combining all the vintages by score and price, the 2002 vintage has four "Outstanding Values" and 57 "Great Value" wines, the 2004 has one "Outstanding Value" wine and 31 "Great Values", the 2003 has 12 "Great Values" and the 2001 vintage has nine "Great Value" wines.
When comparing wines scoring 90 points or more, 67% of the 2004 vintage wines average 90 points or above while the 2002 vintage has 58%, the 2001 vintage 46% and the 2003 vintage has only 27%. In terms of price, the 2002 vintage averages $65, the 2001 and 2004 both average $67 while the 2003 vintage averages $99 for a 90 point wine.
At the high end the 2004 Bouchard Père & Fils, Corton-Charlemagne averages 95 points and at $97 it is 17% of the average $555 price for a similar scoring wine earning an "Outstanding Value" moniker. At $49 the 2002 Cordier, Pouilly-Fuissé Jean Gustave averages 93 points and is 31% the average price earning it a "Great Value". At $27, the 2002 La Chablisiènne, Chablis Côte de Léchet averages 91 points and earns a 28% "Great Value" rating. At the value end of $10, the 2002 Georges Duboeuf, St Veran Flower Label averages 88 and earns a 19% "Great Value" QPR.
